Gun Hill Point, Mussoorie

A historical and second highest peak of Mussoorie, Gun Hill is favourite place for viewing picturesque Himalayan range and Doon Valley. A popular view point of Mussoorie, Gun Point is located at 400 ft above The Mall and accessible by a cable car as well.

At the second top peak of the Mussoorie, Gun Hill is popular place among photographers and Himalayan viewers as it provides a 360 degree view of Himalayan ranges namely Bunderpunch, Srikantha, Pithwara and Gangotri group etc. One can also witness Mussoorie's top view from Gun Point with other picturesque views of the Mussoorie and Doon valley.

Located at 400 ft above the Mall, Gun Point is at 20 min walking distance through the Mall. Visitors also like to enjoy Ropeway ride to Gun Point which also provides a scenic views of the city and valley. Gun Point now has a water reservoir of the Mussoorie city, but during pre-independence days, there was a gun mounted on this top. That Gun used to be fired at mid-day to enable people to adjust their watches.

Company Garden, Mussoorie

A major picnic location in Mussoorie, Company Garden is a colourful garden located at 3 km from The Mall. Also known as "Municipal Garden" or "Company Bagh", it is visited by number of tourists round the year. Company Garden has a variety of beautiful flowers and an amusement park also.

Filled with several colourful flowers, Company Garden is one of most attractive garden in Mussoorie. Best for couple and family picnic, it is a well maintained Municipal Garden, tourists often come here for a small picnic or a day out in Mussoorie. A mini lake with a small artificial waterfall adds to its beauty. For the kids play, Company Garden also has an amusement park with ample space and adventurous rides. Paddled boating facility is also available in the small lake at the garden.

Kempty Fall, Mussoorie

Gigantic Fall with somersault of the streams before hitting the bottom, Kempty Falls is the most popular and one of the oldest tourist spot near Mussoorie. Developed before more than 150 years ago by a British man, Kempty Falls is the most fascinating picnic spot or a perfect day out place nearby Mussoorie at a distance of 15 km.

Known for its milky streams of water, Kempty Fall was developed by a British officer as a place for organizing tea parties. At a height of 4500 ft surrounded by the valleys of Mussoorie, Kempty Falls soon become a favourite place for day out tour or a picnic. Now it has become a must visit tourist destination for people visiting Mussoorie.

Tourists likes to enjoy the refreshing bath under the 40 ft Kempty Waterfalls. One can also enjoy some boating in the nearby man-made pond. Several shops are there to serve food and other eatables. As it is located at some 15 km distance from Mussoorie, it opens during the daytime only from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Best time to visit Kempty Fall is during summers i.e June to October.

Camel's Back Road, Mussoorie

A beautiful peaceful walk under the nature will always boost calmness and inner peace. Camel Back Road provides the same experience in Mussoorie. This 3 km long road is named as Camel Back Rd due to the presence of natural layout of rocks shaped like a camels hump at the end of road.

Shiva Mandir, Mussoorie Road

It is popularly known as Prakasheshwar Mahadev Mandir among locals as well as devotees. Shiv Mandir is one of the famous religious places of Dehradun.

This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Here you can see many pictures and idols of god and goddess. Everyday temple is decorated with flowers. Special poojas are held on the occasion of Shivratri & Sawaan. Bhandaara is organized daily for pilgrims where Prasad is distributed to them. The only temple where devotees cannot offer any donations to the god. This place is very peaceful which gives a full relaxation and peace to the mind.

It is located about 12 km from Dehradun on Mussoorie road near Kuthal Gate. This place is 8 km away from Dehradun bus stand, 7 km away from Dehradun Railway Station and 34 km away from Jolly Grant Airport at Dehradun.

ZOO (Malsi Dear Park), Mussoorie Road

Malsi Deer Park is now renamed as Dehradun Zoo. Malsi Deer Park is a major wildlife lovers attraction after Rajaji National Park in Dehradun. Located at 10 km from Dehradun at Mussoorie Road, this mini Zoological park or garden is now developed as a famous family outing/picnic spot in Dehradun and flushed with visitors during weekends.

Surrounded by Malsi Reserve Forest, Malsi Deer Park is famous for sightseeing of young deer or heardof deer in their natural habitat at Shiwalik foothills.
